The article is talking about Americas most hated woman named Casey Anthony, they are talking about her murdered child at her home in Florida. The article was published on the 7th March 2017 to inform the  audience about what was a big case in 2008 now come back to the papers as this was the first time she has spoken out since 2011

The purpose of this article is to inform their C2DE audience about Americas most hated woman. The mode of the address for this article is informal as theres a short simple sentence structure and usually it is bullet pointed so the daily mail uses restricted coding this is because The Daily Mail tend to focus more on celebrity gossip etc instead of something serious like this so their journalists will use the same type of coding. "She told police that her daughter had been taken off my a mysterious babysitter" this is an example of a short simple sentence used in the article, it is basic in what it is telling you and she cant say much because she doesnt know what happened either. However, futher on in the article The Daily Mail uses complex sentences for example "In a rare interview, Anthony admitted she is aware that most of the world believes she killed the child, who vanished nearly nine years ago." this is used to inform the reader of when her daughter went missing also she knows most of the world believe she did murder her daughter but says "she does not 'give a s***' about what people think of her. " This quote does not create empathy for Casey because she is using incogruity language as this is a serious case but her choice of words dont sound positive towards her child but instead negative making it sound like she is over her child being murdered.

The headline catches the audiences attention because it sounds like the mother of the murdered daughter doesnt care by saying "sleeps pretty good at night" the daily mail make it sound like the mother is saying that  in a bad way this is also juxtaposition because the way the Daily AMail have only feautured this part of the interview so the audience would want to read the full article "sleeps pretty good at night" this makes the audience think that she is talking about herself slweeping good at night even though her daughter was murdered but then uses negative emotive language "unfortunate idiots of who lied" to see why she is Americas most hated woman.

In this news article I can tell from the beggining of the article that they are using restricted coding as it is telling you about what has happened how Casey has spoken about her child, however as we get further past paragraph one the article starts talking about Anthonys life  "Anthony now lives with OJ Simpson investigator Patrick McKenna (pair above in February 2016) and says she can empathize with the football star" this is making the reader start to feel sympahty for Casey that her daughter went missing because the audience now know more about her.

The use of emotive language is used alot through this article as it has negative connotations of her dead daughter. "Six years after she was acquitted of murdering her daughter, Casey Anthony maintains she has no idea how the two-year-old died - and says she sleeps 'pretty good' at night." This clearly emphasises symathy for the reader as the mother still says she doesnt know how she died which would make you feel sad for the reader however some people still think she killed her dauhhter even though she was found not guilty. Another reported quote from a news outlet saying 'I'm still not even certain as I stand here today about what happened.' in haltign sober tones. Shows quotes from reports that she is using formal language as she is speaking about something close to her heart.

The use of imagery for example the photograph of Casey posing next to a potrait of her murdered daughter shows her emotions but not what you would think as she has a small grin on her face this connotes why people think she has murdered her daughter nearly 9 years ago. However in an other picture she is smiling up towrads a photo of her and her daughter so some people could think she is thinking of her in a happy way remembering the memroies however other people could think she is smiling out of happiness for getting away with the murder
